The political situation in Bangladesh is being discussed in the global geopolitical arena in recent times as the next parliamentary election is knocking at the door. US Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya and US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu visited Dhaka from 11-14 July 2023. They had meetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud and some civil society members.

The adverse economic effect of Covid 19 pandemic and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine War have hammered the economy of the whole world including Bangladesh. Fuel prices, inflation, price hike, fall of remittance inflow, trade deficit and disrupted supply chain have generated a chaotic economic scenario everywhere including our country.
