No good governance without austerity

The terms mentioned above are not mutually inclusive. There is common ground in our general understanding of austerity and good governance. Good governance requires optimal use of resources for the benefit of the maximum number of people, if not all. Austerity is against wastage of resources and prudent management of whatever is available.

Land management system and Digital Bangladesh

Corruption has been recognised as Bangladesh's major problem for a long time. This can be justified if one looks at Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index (CPI). The land management system is known to be highly corrupted. A World Bank survey reveals that most crimes and corruption in Bangladesh take place in land-related services.

AGES ago, Rabindranath Tagore said: "Youth, I do adore thee, Age, I do abhor thee." Tagore recognised the ultimate torchbearers of a nation, who are the youth. Like Tagore, I also believe in youth, and I consider myself as an active supporter of empowerment of the young in the development of the nation. The nation, today, needs leadership by physically active and educated people. In this article, I will concentrate on the role that the youth played and could play.
